Jazmyn Jones

I was born in Ponce Puerto Rico where I was surrounded by and absorbed the local art scene. My father was the town carpenter and had a love for all things creative. When I was very young my father introduced me to a renowned city artist Maura who gifted me an original piece of art which he had just completed. It so inspired me that I knew then and there that I wanted to become an artist and create such beauty. My father nurtured my ambition to become an artist and patiently taught me how to draw my very first tree, branch by branch. Now that my father has passed on, I feel that my trees have lost their fruit and their leaves have fallen, but the roots are still strong and so my ambition is still growing as my father would want it to be.
