““Works by Aafia” presents a collection of new works by the burgeoning, yet recently award-winning artist known by her nom de plume, Aafia, which means wellness or wellbeing. One of the central themes of this collection of work reflects the question of what can be created from a place of restriction. One way this theme is expressed is through the use of squares. This shape may be seen as restrictive. Or as an opening—a portal, door, or way out. Regardless, the viewer is warmly invited to imbue each and any piece with stories or connections that feel personally meaningful to them. This is the first showing of this collection at Art All Day, unfolding a new chapter in Aafia’s practice.
