Bentrice Jusu

Bentrice Jusu is a Liberian-American contemporary artist and activist, as well as a firefighter.

Jusu's work is included in the permanent collection of the Phillip and Caroline Hanes Gallery in North Carolina, and she been featured internationally in venues including the Zanzibar International Film Festival, SACI Italy, and the Brooklyn Musuem, where she has performed some her original works and those of Alice Walker from the book Taking the Arrow Out of the Heart. Her seminal work, The Potential Project, creates a necessary bridge between service, art, and recovery; it was supported by the Kresge Foundation and featured on NPR and PBS News.

Jusu currently serves on the board of the Trenton Arts Fund, Princeton University Arts Museum Community Advisory Board, and Cross Communities Foundation. She is working on illustrating "Potential" through Living on Purpose.
